It's finally warm! (or it will be again!)
I would be remiss not to start this post with a moment of silence for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service of a more perfect union. It’s important to acknowledge on today of all days and strive to make those who died proud of the nation that we are—something we emphatically need to work on.
I haven’t done one of these in a while (since February!) because it’s been so repetitive I didn’t have anything new to share. But now it’s warm and I’m wearing different things! Here’s what I’ve been reaching for…
J. Crew linen shirt | L’Agence white jeans | Faherty belt | Sun hat | Boat shoes | March Hare watch
This is one of my all-time favorite combinations, and the thing that really works here are these white jeans. These are actually slimming (!!) and the raw hem is the perfect casual touch that I want when I’m wearing white jeans.
I’m a huge fan of linen in summer (I wrote about this non-stop last year) and Baird McNutt’s linen is among the best in the world. I love that J. Crew collaborates with the mill to produce truly great linen pieces at accessible price points.
I always find that brown accessories ground my summer outfits (and Sogole Kane just wrote a great post on brown in summer!), so my braided leather belt and boat shoes were just right.
Kilte Collection sweater | Lands’ End seersucker pajamas
This is the photo that made me realize I need to reapply my Saltyface tanner… anyway there is nothing on this earth better than shorts-and-sweater weather and after plunging from 40-degree days straight into the 90s, we really skipped past this ideal time this year! I insisted on getting at least an hour of my favorite outfit in by getting up very early to have coffee on the porch. I’m obsessed with these Lands’ End pajamas, which are the perfect amount of girliness (the ruffles!) while being practical (the seersucker). They should be immortalized in the novel I’m haltingly writing because they are that good.
Ann Mashburn Agnes shirt | L’Agence white jeans | Faherty belt | Sun hat | Ann Mashburn sandals | March Hare watch | Guest in Residence cardigan | Bauble Bar necklace | Bose open earbuds
This was a bit of a tricky day to dress for, as I was organizing a walking tour of the East Village and then hopping on a train down to DC. I managed to book one of the new Acela trains, which was extremely nice—particularly nice as the entire northeast corridor was suspended for multiple hours due to a fire in North Philadelphia.
I am very committed to bringing the sunhat back, so I proudly sported the pictured hat all over Manhattan. Cool, comfortable, and elegant (or so I told myself after being stared at)!
This Guest in Residence cardigan was the perfect whisper-light layer I needed for the train—it packs down to nothing and brings a welcome pop of color to any outfit.

I’m not doing a dedicated sale post this year, but you can find the specific items I’m eyeing here on ShopMy or here (with pithy commentary) on Rec League.
I’ve actually been updating my Pinterest lately, which you can find here.

I adore the Land’s End shorts! They’d be cute for a beach day!
