Totally Clutch

Or: one clutch three ways

As we pack up and move, I’m getting inspired by the pieces I’ve had in storage for years. I was so delighted to find this vintage J. McLaughlin clutch, which was one of the very first things I purchased on Poshmark in 2013! (You can find some other Poshmark wins at the link below:)

As my beloved Bermuda bag is undergoing some TLC this summer, happening upon this great vintage clutch was very opportune! Today, I wanted to share how I used this clutch three times over the weekend for three wildly different scenarios. Proof that all you really need is one really great bag (plus of course a tote).

I wore this dress on the very hottest day so far… I was melting. It was a great reminder that the coolest things gently float over your body. I love this dress because it’s perfectly structured, yet light and breezy all the same—the ideal throw-on-and-go dress. (My girl Heather Davey Fusco has the same one—we need to make sure we’re not twinning when we get together later this summer!)

This outfit reminded me of Natalia Quintero Ochoa and Fanny Adams, two of my favorite people on this platform. I love a blue and white combination (OBVIOUSLY) and I also love how the clutch dressed up what was an outfit for a birthday party for a dear friend’s son.

Does anyone else hate how the iPhone selfie camera will zoom in and destroy your shot?? I’m trying to figure out how to turn it off. Anyway, this was the best shot I could personally get of my running-errands outfit, but it features my favorite vintage madras shirt from Brooks Brothers ( Lindsay Sword can you guys bring this plaid back??) which is a dead ringer for this one from The Parent Trap. I wore this one non-stop last summer.
