I shared what I wore every day, where I bought the piece (and for how much), and why I chose my outfit—along with the weather and a recap of my day’s activities. This year, I’m bringing back this column for paid subscribers: a detailed diary and anthropological analysis of the wardrobe and uniform of a thirty-something mom, nonprofit director, and wife, living in the New York suburbs.
One of my goals for this column is, actually, to dive deep and get past the surface explanations. We’re influenced by so many people, places, and things: this column endeavors to address those influences, conscious and unconscious. It also attempts to address the cost of an outfit, the importance of investment pieces, and what in my wardrobe gets the most wear.
Read on for last week’s outfits.
