White Jeans Three Ways

The most wildly impractical yet alluring pants for summer

I’ve finally fallen head over heels for white jeans. I’ve dabbled in them for years—you can see that here—but last year was the year I finally got a pair that made me feel GREAT. I think it was that the frayed hem instantly made everything less thought-through and more casual. I was so delighted to find I’ve been reaching for them just as much this summer around.

While I’ve been wearing them with the majority of my tops, I wanted to show the three different “categories” I tend to reach for—polos, button-downs, and tees.

I’ve finally found a social media trend that resonates with me and that is the 2016 photo post. I’ve so frequently written about how much I miss the mid-2010s: the days of endless gchats with my best friends during work. Living with my BFF. Living a few blocks away from another BFF. Summer drives from DC to the North Shore to go sailing. Cocktail hour at my house in the evenings after work. Casual dinner parties with no notice. No infinite scroll on Instagram, so I actually reached the end and set it down. Skinny jeans and stripes (my favorites). Walking down to my favorite used bookstore and stocking up on books that I already loved, books I thought I’d love, and books I loved the look of. Meeting my husband. Reading the paper without freaking out. All those little things that made life nice!
