I’m so glad you had a wonderful time in my native city of San Francisco. I hope you went to The Presidio at the north end of town; besides being very historic it is gorgeous. I walk my golden retriever there every morning at 6:00. Also hoping you went over the GG bridge to the Marin Headlands; absolutely spectacular. Funny that you ate Mexican food in North Beach as it is the Italian part of town; the hole in the wall places serve the best food. It is always chilly (and usually overcast and foggy) until mid-late afternoon in the summer. For the best weather, come back in October.

We did!!! And yes, we crossed the GG bridge twice, once going up to visit friends in Mendocino County and once coming back. We went to North Beach on the Fourth of July so literally every other restaurant was packed out and spilling onto the streets except this one (also crowded but had room). We will definitely be back in October one of these years! As I mentioned, it was an unexpected stop but a very welcome one, and I'm so glad we were there.

Fantastic! Mendocino is heaven; the entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places. The old TV show “Murder She Wrote” was filmed there. It must have been quite the drive over a holiday, but so worth it, especially to see friends. Something to consider if you do come for an October visit some year is Fleet Week; The Blue Angels perform (incredible to see them buzz Coit Tower and the GG Bridge). There is always something fun happening whenever you come, and I do hope you will return!

We were in the middle of Mendocino County and missed the coast this time—next year! Thankfully we stayed for five days so the drive wasn’t arduous. It was simply heaven!!

Honestly THANK GOD for it because it fit so much: multiple books, stuffed animals, a cashmere wrap, a sweater, two other purses, and snacks lol
